The Doshas

There are three main doshas or constitutions in Ayurveda: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each Dosha represents a unique blend of physical, emotional and mental characteristics. An individual has traits belonging to all three constitutions, but two are usually more dominant. The goal of Ayurveda is to balance the three Doshas with prescribed foods, flavors, exercises, scents and colors to achieve optimal physical and mental health.
